I am just getting into using henna so I am still learning about it. I used just the simplest mixing recipe I could find ( lemon juice and shelly oil) and the first time I did the designs the stain was not as dark as expected and uneven. But after keeping it in the fridge for several weeks ( trying to use it up) the paste stained much more to expectations and more evenly. I was surprised however at how dark my palm stained with the fresh mixture. After a few days of oxidizing it turned almost black! I am looking forward to trying other mixing ratios.

I have been making henna paste for many years. I have tried several different hennas. Jamilla henna is by far the best. It gives a beautiful, dark stain that lasts for weeks.
